Bromley Rotary Club School Day

Lucy and Oli attend Rotary Lunch

Bromley Rotary Club contacted us this week to express their thanks and appreciation after Oli Stubbs and Lucy Butler represented Newstead Wood School at the annual School's Day.

They said that "Oliver was a real credit to the school and his maturity, positiveness and honesty, despite his earlier difficulties, are a lesson to us all. Having been a teacher myself, it is very rewarding to have a student acknowledge the help given by members of staff as Oliver did to you. We don't work for it, but it's satisfying when it happens."

Each year the Rotary run Youth Award Scheme for Bromley Secondary schools which is now into it's fourth successful year. It aims to recognise the 'unsung heroes' of all ages in our secondary schools who, on their own initiative, help in the local community or at home as young carers.
