What should my daughter do if she feels she is struggling in the subject?
Take the courage to chat to her teacher, we are here to help and encourage. We can support with positive learning conversations which will help to build her confidence.
We can also set achievable targets together. It is important that students feel comfortable and relaxed in a drama environment so that confidence and creativity can grow.
How can I support my daughter?
Chat to her about what she is doing in drama. Ask her about the theatre trips she has been on and if she has completed her notes for preparing the review. Encourage her to read theatre reviews in papers. Help her with learning lines for performances.
Homework
Depending on what we are working on, homework might be set exam questions, draft questions for coursework, diary notes for practical work, etc.
What kind of independent work should my daughter be completing?
Preparing written notes from practical work and the theatre visit.
Researching reviews of plays she has seen and trying to get information about the staging of the production e.g. photographs and cast lists.
Writing up notes from practical workshops and learning lines for performances.
