Newstead 2030 - School Fundraising

Newstead 2030 - Our Vision

Our ambitious 10 Year Plan aims to ensure we have a world class estate commensurate with the world class profile of our amazing students.

There are two main ways that parents, alumni and friends of the school can support us in our fundraising strategy.

Furstyl, through our voluntary Annual School Fund, and secondly through our Capital Fundraising Campaign 'Designing Futures-Realising Dreams'.

Designing Futures - Realising Dreams

This is our capital fundraising project in which we are seeking to raise £750k to realise two phases of our Newstead 2030 Vision. Our plan allows us to develop our site over the next 10 years and focuses on all areas of the school. Drama, Art, DT, Science, Music and Sport all feature heavily, alongside the canteen, library, washrooms and outdoor spaces.

Designign Futures Realising Dreams - Phase 1 of realising our Newstead 2030 Vision

Our Library is at the heart of our school and we plan to increase the size of the library by a third for the benefit of every Newstead student for years to come. The images below are indicative of what our new library and study space would look like.

Following this, we are seeking to refurbish all 10 of our Science Laboratories. Science is the most popular curriculum areas in the school. All students study Triple Science to GCSE and many continue in the Sixth Form. We want to ensure our students benefit from state of the art facilities in which to learn.

To find out more about our Designing Futures - Realising Dreams Campaign, please email Mel Alford, our Campaign Manager at malford@newsteadwood.co.uk Mel will be able to speak further about our plans and discuss the different ways that you may be able to support the campaing either by making a gift, joining our Campaign Board or becoming a volunteer.

Annual School Fund

Our Annual School Fund seeks to raise funds towards general school improvements such as ICT upgrades, rolling works and additional curriculum resources.

Our Annual School Fund directly benefits our students and has allowed us to purchase items we otherwise simply wouldn’t have been able to. We will continue to use a small amount of our Annual School Fund to purchase items that we simply would not have been able to purchase or upgrade otherwise, such as IT development.

Since 2020 we have been able to install a new computer suite in I27 and install new Interactive Panels in classrooms across the site including in Languages, Engligh, Maths, Biology and IT Suites thanks to our Annual School Fund donations.

Together Parents and Friends of Newstead Wood School have already raised over £250,000 which has helped enable our teaching team to continue to offer an outstanding educational experience at Newstead Wood School.

Together, we have achieved:

  • A new DT Kitchen area for students studying Food Technology
  • New textbooks across the whole of KS3 Science
  • A new library book security and issuing system
  • New data projectors in Maths and Science
  • New computers in the Engineering suite
  • New textbooks for GCSE courses in Maths, Science, Geography, History, German, Music, Religious Studies, Design and Technology for both Year 10 and Year 11 cohorts
  • New computers in the Sixth Form Study Area
  • A replacement server power protection unit
  • A new backup server for the school computer system
  • Emergency replacement parts for the school boilers

A huge thank you to everyone who has already supported the Annual School Fund to date, helping us to achieve so much in a such a short space of time.

Please do continue to support Our Newstead 2030 Vision by contributing to our Annual School Fund. If you are a UK taxpayer, please tick and sign the Gift Aid section at the bottom of the School Fund contribution form.  By doing this we are able to increase the value of your donation by 25%.
