Newstead 2030 - Annual School Fund

Newstead 2030 - Our Vision

Our ambitious 10 Year Plan aims to ensure we have a world class estate commensurate with the world class profile of our amazing students.

In 2016 we launched our Providing Excellence Together campaign as a parent-led fundraising initiative here at Newstead. This has now been superseded by our Annual School Fund which seeks to raise funds towards our capital projects which will realise our Newstead 2030 Vision. Our phased plan allows us to develop our site over the next 10 years and focuses on all areas of the school. Drama, Art, DT, Science, Music and Sport all feature heavily, alongside the canteen, library, washrooms and outdoor spaces.

Phase 1 of realising our Newstead 2030 Vision

Phase 1 of our Newstead 2030 Vision is the addition of covered outdoor spaces and walkways to facilitate movement around our site and to provide enhanced outdoor areas for students. Our Library is at the heart of our school and we plan to increase the size of the library by a third for the benefit of every Newstead student for years to come. The images below are indicative of what our new library and study space would look like.

To help meet this goal we suggest a contribution of £50 per month, though we also welcome lower amounts from parents who may not be able to contribute this amount. It is also possible to make annual or one-time donations. Below is the School Fund Contribution Form should you wish to contribute.

How contributions have been used so far:

Our Annual School Fund directly benefits our students and has allowed us to purchase items we otherwise simply wouldn’t have been able to. We will continue to use a small amount of our Annual School Fund to purchase items that we simply would not have been able to purchase or upgrade otherwise, such as IT development, but the main aim is to realise the Newstead 2030 Vision.

In 2020 we were able to install a new computer suite in I27 and install 5 new Interactive Panels in Maths, Biology and IT Suites thanks to our Annual School Fund donations.

Together Parents and Friends of Newstead Wood School have already raised over £250,000 which has helped enable our teaching team to continue to offer an outstanding educational experience at Newstead Wood School.

Together, we have achieved:

  • A new DT Kitchen area for students studying Food Technology
  • New textbooks for KS3 Science
  • A new library security and issuing system
  • New data projectors in Maths and Science
  • New computers in the Engineering suite
  • New textbooks for GCSE courses in Maths, Science, Geography, History, German, Music, Religious Studies, Design and Technology for both Year 10 and Year 11 cohorts
  • New computers in the Sixth Form Study Area
  • A replacement server power protection unit
  • A new backup server for the school computer system
  • Emergency replacement parts for the school boilers

A huge thank you to everyone who has already supported the Annual School Fund to date, helping us to achieve so much in a such a short space of time.

Please do continue to support Our Newstead 2030 Vision by contributing to our Annual School Fund. If you are a UK taxpayer, please tick and sign the Gift Aid section at the bottom of the School Fund contribution form.  By doing this we are able to increase the value of your donation by 25%.
