Newstead Wood School marks another year of exceptional A Level results

Newstead Wood School is celebrating today after its Year 13 cohort received a superb set of A Level results, reflecting students’ hard work, resilience and ambition.

This year, 82% of entries were awarded A*-B grades with 53% of entries securing the highest grades of A*-A.

Likewise, several subjects saw 90% of entries or more securing A*-B grades, including Art, Classics, Computer Science, Economics, Geography, German, History, Psychology and Religion, Philosophy and Ethics.

These strong academic outcomes have translated into exceptional post-18 destinations. As ever, the vast majority of students have secured places at their first-choice university or destination, while twelve students have successfully gained places at the Universities of Oxford or Cambridge, reflecting both the aspirations of the students and the strength of the school's academic provision.

These achievements build on Newstead Wood School's long-standing tradition of academic excellence while demonstrating the school's commitment to ensuring that every student is known, supported and challenged to achieve her very best.

Headteacher Paul Norman said:

"Results represent far more than grades. They reflect years of dedication, encouragement and belief in each student's potential. Every grade achieved today tells a story of commitment, resilience and growth, and we are immensely proud of what our students have accomplished.

“Our role is not simply to help students achieve excellent academic outcomes, but to equip them with the character, independence and self-belief to thrive in whatever path they choose, and we are extremely proud of our students.

“We wish our young people every success as they embark on the next stage of their education and future careers.”
