In March 2025 our Year 7 designers were invited to the V&A Museum in South Kensington to participate in the National Final of the V&A Innovate Design Challenge. The team was chosen as one of ten finalists from 200 schools' entries, and asked to pitch to a panel of design professionals and celebrity judges. The students presented their idea with poise and confidence, handing out samples of their cricket cookies and displaying their zero waste packaging as they discussed the hugely positive impact that changing our sources of protein to bug based foods could have. Their fantastic design work and pitch was awarded with the Transform Brief Winner Award. The pupils were phenomenal throughout the whole event and they should be very proud of their achievement. Well done to them all!
Mr Thomas was also awarded ECT Teacher of the Year Award for the competition for all his fantastic hard work and committed contribution to the project.
