Our next Year 7 Open Morning will take place on Saturday 6 July 2024. You will have the opportunity to attend a welcome talk with the Headteacher, senior staff and Head students, take a tour with some of our amazing students and meet various staff members. The Open Morning is now fully booked but you can join the waiting list here.
We will also run weekday School Tours in the summer term for people who are not able to attend the Open Morning. Take a tour with some of our amazing students and a member of our Senior Team, see our incredible learning ethos in action, ask questions and meet our students and staff to discover Newstead for yourself. Booking is available here.
In order to avoid overcrowding, these events are for Year 5 families only. Due to high demand, we ask that families choose to attend either a weekday tour or the Open Morning on 6 July and not both. If you book then find you are unable to attend, please cancel your place using the link on your e-ticket so that someone else is able to attend in your place.
You can also see our Virtual School Tour here. Please enjoy exploring our website to get a flavour of life at Newstead Wood School
If your daughter is in receipt of Pupil Premium, we are pleased to be able to offer access to an additional online package of around 10-hours familiarisation material, that has been developed by the Grammar School Heads Association, especially for Pupil Premium students. If you indicate Pupil Premium on the application form, once we have verified this, we will send you a logon code especially for you, so you can access the material on the online platform hosted by Frog Education.
Each year our Parents' Association hold a number of familarisation sessions to enable prospective applicants to have an experience of sitting a selection test under exam conditions in an unfamiliar environment. Details can be found on their website http://www.newsteadwoodpa.co.uk
