During the summer, 16 students took part in a four-week expedition to Sacred Valley, Peru. They took part in volunteering work at a variety of projects, including building toilets and greenhouses in a school, huts for a local community, and steps for a school basketball court. They learned skills including plastering and mixing cement and made a tangible positive impact in local communities.
Students then spent four days hiking the Salkantay trek and climbing to Machu Picchu. They walked 65km, staying at camps along the route. They were surrounded by mountains shrouded in green and the weather was perfect, so views were breathtaking, with lush, rolling valleys and colossal, snowy peaks framing the entire trek.
