Welcome to our Sixth Form
The Sixth Form at Newstead provides students with a challenging, exciting and varied curriculum that will make your decision to study with us an easy one.
In our co-educational Sixth Form, we offer a wide range of A level courses and extra-curricular support to help all students with their future decisions, helping with choices around undergraduate study and life ‘Beyond Newstead’. Our A Level results are excellent and the destinations of our recent alumni can be found by clicking the links on the left.
We offer a variety of academic choices in the Sixth Form. The vast majority of students will choose 3 subjects to study in Year 12. You can study an additional A level if you require the extra challenge, and do also consider an EPQ (Extended Project Qualification). The EPQ is offered to all students in the Sixth Form, where you are paired up with a member of staff as a mentor for individual tuition. Year 12 have a weekly lecture timetabled - a valuable opportunity to hear talks from external university and charity speakers, to inform and guide them through the UCAS process, as well as around current affairs and PSHE.
All Year 12 students will take on a leadership role. There are varied roles, including Head Student, House Captain, Subject Leader, and more. The voice and ability of each student in Newstead Sixth Form is recognised, valued and heard. You will encounter a wide range of opportunities to lead whole school activities, provide mentoring, and contribute to the school and wider community. We are excited to welcome you as a new member of our diverse and vibrant community.
